More Russians get online

Europemedia reports that the number of Internet users in Russia doubled in 2001, to reach a total of 18 million.
The number of -regular- Internet users in the country also grew to 8 million, according to a new report from the Russian IT public center (ROCIT). The report indicates that the ratio of corporate to home users has also changed. In 2001 around 63 percent of Internet users in Russia, accessed the Internet at work, an increase of 3 percent on 2000. The number of corporate users is likely to grow again in 2002, to 65 percent, according to the report.
